Service Terms & Conditions
What follows is the understanding between you and Open Box Moving Solutions — a licensed household-goods carrier based in Asheville, North Carolina — and it governs this website together with the moving work we perform. Read it through before you ask for a quote or put us on the job, since either step is treated as agreeing to everything laid out here.
What the agreement covers
Two things sit under this document: how you use this site, and the relocation, packing, and storage work we do. That work reaches across Asheville and the rest of Western North Carolina, climbs into the downtown and River Arts District buildings, runs up to the ridge homes on the mountain, and stretches out past the region on long-distance hauls. We hold licensing at both levels — NCUC C-2841 inside North Carolina, and USDOT/MC operating authority across state lines — and every job runs on company-owned trucks staffed by W-2 crews. We do not broker work or pass it off to another carrier; that is simply not the model.
How the figure comes together
Your written number is built from what you report to us — both addresses, the staircases, the access at each end, the driveway grades, any out-of-the-ordinary items, and the date — and it reflects the move you described. Because a number is only ever as good as the facts beneath it, a genuine gap on move-day will shift the math. A flight of stairs nobody mentioned, a destination that changed, or a load far heavier than quoted each give us reason to stop and talk a revised figure through with you in the open, rather than quietly adding it at the curb. Keep in mind as well that a quote by itself reserves nothing; the slot belongs to you only after we confirm it back.
Booking a date and stepping away from one
The calendar goes to whoever commits to the date first. If your date has to move or fall away entirely, give us all the notice you can so another household can claim the opening. Any deposit, or the exact cancellation terms attached to your particular job, gets spelled out in the written quote or the move agreement — not buried in fine print here.
What we rely on from you
- Give us the honest shape of the move — the room count, the rough weight, and which pieces are awkward to carry
- Flag the stairs, the driveway grades, the parking limits, and anything fragile or oversized from the outset
- Handle whatever building or HOA approval falls beyond what we are able to set up
- Keep the path lawful and clear for the crew at both the loading and the unloading ends
If something goes missing or gets damaged
How far our responsibility extends on loss or damage depends on the coverage level you pick and on the federal and state rules tied to it. The free option is released-value coverage, fixing the floor at 60 cents per pound on any item; pay a bit above that and full-value coverage takes over. Bring any claim to us in writing, and for interstate moves you generally have somewhere around nine months from delivery to file it.
Read the site as a guide
Treat what is written across this site as a broad picture of what we do — we keep it as accurate as we reasonably can, but make no guarantee that it is complete or free of error. Putting the site to any unlawful use is not permitted, nor is any attempt to overload it, damage it, or otherwise interfere with how it works.
If these terms are revised
We may revise these terms as circumstances call for it; whichever version is live on this page at any given moment is the one that governs.
