Fairview, NC Moving Services
Fairview sits in the east-county valley off Charlotte Highway (US 74A), between Asheville and the Hickory Nut Gorge — ridge cabins, valley farmhouses, and second-homes scattered up the slopes toward Lake Lure. We’ve run the 74A corridor here since Cole Brantley started the company in 2012.
A lot of Fairview work is a mountain second-home for the views — or scaling back from a larger property.
The homes we load out here
A fair share of the work is folks moving into a mountain place for the views or scaling back from a larger property.
- Cane Creek valley farmhouses and ranches — single-level carries, with weight in a packed barn, workshop, or sunroom Travis Greer’s crew boxes and crates first
- Ridge cabins and second-homes — timber or log builds with steep loft stairs and finished walkout levels
- Eli Sumner handles any piano coming out of those lofts
- Becca Hollis can hold a load in climate-controlled storage when a second-home sale and the next closing don’t line up
Getting the truck to the door
The valley lots usually hand over a real driveway with room for the 26-footer. The ridge properties are where it gets technical.
| Obstacle | How we handle it |
|---|---|
| Long gravel switchbacks, steep grades, tight turnarounds | Dale Pruett scouts from dispatch; a shuttle in a smaller truck whenever the road won’t take the full rig |
| Winter ice storms | We move a date before sending a crew up an iced grade |
| Hot, humid valley summers | July jobs start at first light; 74A and I-40 line the move toward Asheville or a longer haul |
The cabin still empties in a day — we just bring the right truck to the climb.
