Candler, NC Moving Services
Candler spreads west of Asheville along the Smoky Park Highway and the Hominy Creek valley, a rural-leaning stretch of Buncombe where the lots get bigger and pavement gives way to gravel the farther out you go. We’ve worked these roads since Cole Brantley founded the company in 2012.

The homes we load out here
Hannah Whitford sizes the whole inventory with you ahead so the crew matches the actual house, whether it’s a valley ranch or a ridge cabin.
| Where it sits | What the move involves |
|---|---|
| Valley floor (off Smoky Park Highway) | Single-level ranches and manufactured homes; a clean carry, with the bulk in a workshop, carport, or shed Travis Greer’s crew boxes and crates first |
| Hollows and ridges | A long gravel driveway, a steep approach, and the occasional loft cabin with tight stairs we work pieces through by hand |
Getting the truck to the door
Down in the valley the driveways are usually genuine, with room to plant the 26-footer at the door. The ridge and hollow properties are the puzzle.
- Scout the climb — Dale Pruett checks long gravel switchbacks, soft shoulders, and tight grades from dispatch.
- Shuttle when needed — where the road won’t take the big truck we shuttle the load up or down in a smaller one.
- Watch the weather — summers run hot and humid, so July work starts early.
Winter on the gravel grades
Ice can glaze the gravel climbs, and we’ll move a date rather than risk an iced ascent — the figure on your quote doesn’t budge when we do.
